week 9, 10 and 11

Week 9
Common tests week. Monday we had the first paper maths. Tuesday break, my friends and i went to hougang to study material and manufacturing. Wednesday material and manufacturing papers. Wednesday nights, revise on mechanics. Thursday mechanics paper, the last paper.
Week 10 – 11
Holidays. Went out for shopping, relax and play. Also stay at home to complete my material individual project. The topic is about billiard. So i need to type out a report about the different material of billiard.

week 7 and 8

Week 7
In autocad, we had trial test. In manufacturing, we started topic two, we learn about non-conventional machining. In personal development, we are told to do the parachute experiment. In material, we learnt cast irons. In mechanics, we learnt how to find the moment of inertia of areas and masses. In maths, we learnt complex number and exponential and logarithms function.
Week 8
All lecturers give us tips on the week 9 common tests. They also revise us for the coming test. I also went to print all the past years common tests papers and started to complete all the papers before the tests with my group of friends.

Week 5 and 6

Week 5
In mechanics, i learnt how to calculate friction. In autocad, we are introduces to the array commands and also told to do exercises. In material, we started topic 2, we learntthe structure of metals, solidification of metals and constitution of steel. In manufacturing, we learnt joining processes using mechanical, welding and soldering and brazing methods. In maths, we learnt the graphs of trigonometric functions, like how to draw the sine and cosine curves. In personal development, we are told to form our group of three to do a parachute.
Week 6
In personal development, our group of three came today and do the parachute. We try 2 times. The 1st attempt we try fail. So we change the material use. 2nd time the parachute flies and landed without any damage. In material, we learnt alloying elements in steel and properties and application of various steels. In manufacturing, we learnt sheet metal working useing shearing, bending and deep drawing. In autocad, we learnt how to draw in first angle projection. In maths, we learnt engineering function.

Week 3 and 4

Week 3
In mechanics, we learnt more in forces, like how we find the forces with the help of trigo. In autocad, we learn more how to use the arc, circle, trim, break and osnap commands and we are ask to do some exercises. In material, we learnt the mechanical properties, how to find the stress and strain. In manufacturing, we learnt how metal are form from extrusion. In math, we learnt the basic trigo function, and using the graph to form domain and ranges. In personal development, we are ask to type out 2 goals.

Week 4
In autocad, we are being introduced how to use the polygon, dim, fillet and chamfer commands, and as usual we are told to do some exercises. In manufacturing, we learnt how to metal form from the different types of casting processes. In material, we are still learning the mechanical properties, malleability and hardness test. In mechanics, we learnt how to find the moments of forces. In maths, we learnt trigonometric formulas, identities and equations.

Week 1 and 2

Week 1 is the most relaxing week; it is also call the orientation week. We just need to bring ourselves go, because lecturer will only basically tell us the brief idea of what we will be doing for the modules. The lecturer will also tell us some assignment we need to complete in this semester.

Week 2
Lecturer started teaching and we need to take down notes. In week 2, I learn some basic function of autocad and start to draw some basic drawing. In mechanics, i learnt how the different types of free body diagrams and also learnt how to draw the free body diagram. I also learnt how to calculate the resultant force and angle. In manufacturing, we started to learn g-code which is for the CNC machines. This g-codes is to control the CNC machines and to cut the material according to what you want. I also learnt how metal form from forging. In material, we learnt the different types of engineering material, the properties of materials and basic structure of materials and physical properties of materials. In maths, we learnt how to find the domain and ranges of the function.
Hi, I finally have the time to post about my progress on my goal, get good result for this semester. After all those tests, exam, projects, studies and rests, I finally squeeze out sometime to post all progress I had done from the start of the semester.

This semester I have six new modules to score. Engineering drawing/CADD, manufacturing technology, Material technology, Math, Engineering mechanics and Personal development. Some are new to me, some i had learnt in my secondary school, which give me a chance to score even better.
